Hybrid – Integrating Volumetric with Gravimetric Technology for both Sampling & Production
The Hybrid robot is the integration of Quanta and Veritas robots. Quanta is Accurate Dosing Systems Ferrari! Quanta is very fast, precise and in the same time expensive. Automating large number of materials with Quanta is feasible for sampling and production sites with large throughput. However, integrating Quanta with Veritas is a good solution for companies that are medium in size. This technology offers a larger capacity and higher automation rate in the same time.
How our Hybrid technology works?
In Hybrid robot, V500 being integrates with the Quanta robot. The most common liquids will be connected to the syringes and the remaining liquids will be plumbed to the gravimetric valves. The same as in gravimetric dosing, the beaker/pot will be scanned first to load the formula information. Then, the beaker will be positioned under the Quanta head to complete the simultaneous dosing of multiple liquids in the same time from the syringes. This process would take about 40 seconds. After completing the dosing under Quanta dosing head, the beaker moves under the remaining gravimetric valves to complete the pours. Each pour under a gravimetric valve takes about 40 seconds.
The V500 robot for this application is equipped with a 6.2kg loadcell that allows pouring larger batches that can be used also in production.
Why Hybrid?
The data from the client shows that the batch sizes are relatively small. The number of pours are about 1,700 pours per day that if the business is growing, then gravimetric alone might be slow to catch up with the orders.
